New Zealand Ambassador to China John Short and Delegation Visit Weiqiao Pioneering Group

On February 2nd, Jonathan Austin, Ambassador of New Zealand to China, and his delegation visited Weiqiao Pioneering Group for exchange and discussion. Lin Haibin, Deputy Director of the Foreign Affairs Office of Shandong Provincial Party Committee, Lv Mingtao, Vice Mayor of Binzhou City, Zhang Qian, Secretary of Zouping Municipal Party Committee, and Zhang Bo, Chairman of Weiqiao Pioneering Group, held a discussion forum with the delegation.

 

Ambassador Austin noted that the political relations between China and New Zealand have remained stable for a long time, with remarkable cooperation outcomes across various fields. He spoke highly of Weiqiao Pioneering Group’s innovative practices in the fields of green and low-carbon transformation and advanced manufacturing, and expressed great anticipation for deeper bilateral cooperation to achieve mutually beneficial and win-win results for sustainable development in the future.

Lv Mingtao presided over the forum and briefed the participants on the economic and social development of Binzhou City. He stated that Ambassador Austin visit has built a bridge for cooperation between enterprises in Binzhou and New Zealand, and hoped that both sides would further deepen exchanges in industrial, technological and cultural fields.

Zhang Bo introduced Weiqiao Pioneering Group’s achievements in green development. He emphasized that sustainable development is an enterprise’s responsibility, noting that the Group is willing to deepen technological cooperation with New Zealand enterprises and research institutions, continue to provide more high-quality technologies and products for social development, and make new contributions to global sustainable development.

Prior to the forum, Ambassador Austin and his delegation visited the Group’s 600kA Smart Electrolysis Plant.
