The 2026 Conference on Innovation and Development of the Private Economy, jointly hosted by the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce (ACFIC) and the Zhejiang Provincial People’s Government, was recently held in Wenzhou. Gao Yunlong, Vice Chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference and Chairman of ACFIC, and Wang Hao, Secretary of the Communist Party of China Zhejiang Provincial Committee, were among the officials who attended and addressed the conference.

Under the theme “Building Momentum Through Innovation, Empowering the Future,” the conference released a report on innovation among private enterprises, the Top 500 Private Enterprises lists for R&D investment and invention patents, and a collection of case studies on developing new quality productive forces. Weiqiao Pioneering Group ranked 53rd on the 2026 Top 500 Private Enterprises list for R&D investment and 103rd on the list for invention patents. The Group was also included in the 2026 case studies of private enterprises developing new quality productive forces.

At the conference, 17 private enterprises jointly launched the Wenzhou Initiative on Strengthening Basic Research by Private Enterprises.
