Group Deepens Industry–University–Research Cooperation with Xiangcheng District of Suzhou and Soochow University

On December 12, Wang Xiaodong, Deputy Secretary of the Xiangcheng District Committee of Suzhou and District Mayor, led a delegation to visit Weiqiao Pioneering Group for an on-site survey and exchange. Zhang Bo, Chairman of Weiqiao Pioneering Group, held a symposium with the delegation.

Participants in the meeting included Zhang Zhengbiao, Member of the Standing Committee and Vice President of Soochow University; Gu Jianming, Deputy Secretary of the Xiangcheng District Committee and Secretary of the Party Working Committee of Xiangcheng High-tech Zone; and Yang Congsen, Executive Director and Vice President of Weiqiao Pioneering Group, and General Manager of Shandong Hongtuo Industrial Co., Ltd.

 

Zhang Bo noted that Weiqiao Pioneering Group actively aligns with national development strategies and responds to the call for building a “manufacturing powerhouse.” The Group has established comprehensive industrial chain advantages in areas such as aluminum-based new materials and transportation lightweighting. He emphasized that Weiqiao will continue to pursue open cooperation and is willing to strengthen collaboration with Xiangcheng District and Soochow University by integrating resources and jointly building an innovation ecosystem that deeply integrates industry, academia, research, and application.

Wang Xiaodong spoke highly of Weiqiao Pioneering Group’s industrial strength and introduced the development advantages of Xiangcheng District. He expressed his hope that both sides would further deepen cooperation and jointly advance breakthroughs in lightweighting technologies and industrial chain collaboration.

Zhang Zhengbiao introduced Soochow University’s strengths in university–enterprise cooperation. He stated that the university can establish diversified talent co-development mechanisms with enterprises, enabling precise alignment between knowledge innovation and industrial needs.

 

During the visit, the delegation paid tribute at the Zhang Shiping Memorial Hall and conducted an on-site inspection of Weiqiao’s Lightweighting Base.
