On December 16, the inauguration ceremony for the South Campus of Weiqiao Guoke Science and Technology Park (Binzhou) and the opening of Weiqiao Library were held at the park.During the event, Weiqiao Pioneering Group and Wuhan University signed a strategic cooperation agreement aimed at jointly promoting the deep integration of technological innovation and industrial innovation.
The ceremony was attended by notable figures, including Academicians of the Chinese Academy of Sciences Li Shushen, Zheng Wanhua, and Guo Lei; Wuhan University Vice President and Standing Committee Member of the Party Committee He Lian; Foreign Academician of the European Academy of Humanities and Natural Sciences Liu Honghai, also a professor at Harbin Institute of Technology (Shenzhen); Foreign Academician of the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences Zhang Hai, and a member of the Academic Committee of Binzhou Weiqiao Guoke Advanced Technology Research Institute. Also present were Song Yongxiang, Secretary of the Binzhou Municipal Party Committee; Li Chuntian, Mayor of Binzhou; Liu Zhongyuan, Deputy Secretary of the Binzhou Municipal Party Committee; Ding Feng, Member of the Standing Committee and Secretary-General of the Binzhou Municipal Party Committee; Zhang Bo, Chairman of Shandong Weiqiao Pioneering Group, Joint Chair of the Board and Dean of Binzhou Weiqiao Guoke Advanced Technology Research Institute; and Deng Yong, Joint Chair of the Board and former Secretary of the Party Committee and Executive Vice President of the University of the Chinese Academy of Sciences.
In his speech, Mayor Li Chuntian remarked that the activation of the South Campus marks the full operational status of the entire park, injecting greater momentum into Binzhou’s dual-type city development. The establishment and opening of the Weiqiao Library exemplify Weiqiao’s commitment to serving society and giving back to its hometown. The soon-to-be-launched Weiqiao Guoke Aerospace Integration Technology Center will further invigorate Binzhou’s efforts to strengthen its manufacturing sector.
On behalf of Wuhan University, He Lian extended warm congratulations on the 年5park’s inauguration and the library’s opening. She highlighted that Weiqiao Pioneering Group, a distinguished alumni enterprise of Wuhan University, exemplifies national strategic priorities by addressing the country’s technological needs and jointly founding the Weiqiao Guoke Research Institute with the University of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. She emphasized that the relationship between alumni and their alma mater forms a unified entity that grows together, and this library inauguration and strategic cooperation agreement mark a new chapter in their partnership.
Zhang Bo shared the company’s development philosophy and achievements in his remarks. He stated that the opening of the South Campus would further solidify the position of the Weiqiao Guoke Research Institute as a hub for scientific and technological innovation and talent development. Designed as a center for cultural inheritance and innovation, Weiqiao Library will be open to the public, aspiring to become a key space for knowledge acquisition and intellectual exchange. It aims to provide spiritual and intellectual support for technological innovation, industrial transformation, and local economic growth.
During the signing ceremony, Weiqiao Pioneering Group and Wuhan University formalized a strategic cooperation agreement to collaborate more extensively and deeply in scientific research, talent cultivation, and platform development, with a shared commitment to integrating their strengths for mutually beneficial growth.
After the ceremony, participating leaders and guests toured the library.
